Job Title: Video Editor
Responsibilities: • Manipulate and edit film pieces in a seamless manner that is undetectable to the audience.
• Understand the production team’s needs and specifications from a brief and execute them effectively
• Analyze shooting scripts and raw footage to create a shot decision list based on each scene’s value and contribution to continuity.
• Trim footage segments and arrange the sequence of the film. • Add music, dialogue, graphics, and effects to enhance the final product.
• Create rough and final cuts.
• Ensure logical sequencing and smooth running of the final product.
• Collaborate with stakeholders from production to post-production processes.
• Continuously discover and implement new editing technologies and industry’s best practices to increase efficiency.
Requirements and Skills:
• Proven work experience as a Video Editor.
• Solid experience with digital technology and editing software packages, such as Avid Media Composer, Lightworks, Premiere, After Effects, and Final Cut.
• Demonstrable video editing ability with a strong portfolio.
• Thorough knowledge of timing, motivation, and continuity.
• Familiarity with special effects, 3D, and compositing.
• A creative mindset and storytelling skills.
• A BS degree in film studies, cinematography, or a related field.
