Amentum is actively seeking skilled linguists proficient in English to join our diverse and talented global team. We are dedicated to the success of our mission and are looking for linguist professionals in various languages and dialects to support our intelligence community customer OCONUS. As a linguist, you will serve as a Subject Matter Expert (SME) in your assigned area of responsibility, supporting U.S. military operations in Bahrain. Your role will involve providing language services, cultural perspective, and expertise on historical, political, sociological, and economic trends to senior leadership staff.

As a linguist at Amentum, your main responsibilities will include:
1. Operational Linguistic Support:
– Provide contract linguist support for military operations, including interpreting during interviews, meetings, and conferences.
– Transcribe and analyze verbal communications.
– Scan, research, and analyze foreign language documents to extract key information.
Job Requirements:
To be eligible for this position, candidates must meet the following requirements:
1. Citizenship:
– Must be a U.S. citizen.
2. Language Skills:
– Excellent command of Baluchi and Urdu (target languages) and English verbal skills.
– Interagency Language Roundtable (ILR) proficiency level 3 in the target language.
– Proficiency level 2+ in English based on oral language skills examination.
– Proficiency level 2+ in English reading comprehension.
3. Travel and Security:
– Possess a current U.S. passport or be willing to apply as soon as accepted into the program.
– Hold an active Secret clearance for access to classified information or be granted one prior to deployment.
– Willingness to work in Bahrain and aboard Navy vessels for extended periods (up to a few weeks at a time).
– Flexibility to work shifts and extended hours to support 24 x 7 operations.
4. Cultural Awareness:
– Familiarity with and ability to conduct oneself in accordance with the local culture and customs.
5. Medical Requirements:
– Must undergo a medical examination and meet Army MOD15 requirements.
