As a Kitchen Production Manager at IKEA, your role is to support the Food & Beverages Manager in implementing the IKEA Food Service Concept in the IKEA Restaurant & Café, IKEA Bistro, IKEA Swedish Food Market, and IKEA co-worker restaurant. You will be responsible for supervising and directing the daily operations of the kitchen and production area to ensure the highest standards are met, enhancing the IKEA store’s position as the leading home furnishing store in the local market. - Customers:
- Prioritize the needs and satisfaction of guests, aiming to make them smile and providing excellent service based on empathy and care.
- Serve as an ambassador for the IKEA store, creating a positive impression on guests and encouraging them to return.
- Continuously gather feedback from customers, engage in dialogue to understand their needs, and take necessary actions to improve their shopping experience.
- Commercial:
- Coordinate food safety in the store, including managing the HACCP system and implementing IKEA Food Safety programs.
- Conduct random and unannounced food safety checks and organize product analyses.
- Build relationships with relevant authorities, auditors, and suppliers.
- Stay updated on current and upcoming national legislation on food safety.
- Ensure IKEA FOOD co-workers are familiar with incident reporting and emergency management procedures.
- People:
- Lead by example, demonstrating the IKEA core leadership capabilities and fostering a positive work environment.
- Develop and train the team, ensuring they understand the IKEA Concept and relevant guidelines.
- Provide training on food preparation, range presentation, and quality and food safety regulations.
- Establish effective internal communication channels to share key information with IKEA Food co-workers.
- Steering the Business:
- Contribute to the store’s success by attracting visitors, achieving sales growth, ensuring guest and co-worker satisfaction, and maintaining excellent operational performance.
- Monitor and control food costs, operational costs, productivity, sales mix, and recipe cost.
- Organize and manage the business area in terms of financial performance, including gross profit, costs, hours planning, and absence management.
- Implement and enforce standard operating procedures (SOP) rules and guidelines.
- Operations:
- Implement the systems and methods outlined in the IKEA Concept Documentation across the Restaurant, Swedish food market, Bistro, and co-worker restaurant.
- Foster a safety-first culture and encourage co-workers to raise concerns and cooperate with external service providers and authorities.
- Adapt and implement the IKEA HACCP plan to meet the store’s requirements and ensure its routines are followed.
- Oversee inventory, purchasing, ordering, and stock rotation in the Food & Beverages department.
- Maintain food safety and hygiene standards according to HACCP and local regulations.
- Develop and execute action plans for the kitchen and production area, aligning with business goals and objectives.
- Ensure equipment maintenance and documentation are properly managed.
- Manage the full food product range based on the IKEA Concept and local market information.
- Demonstrate expertise in food handling processes and logistics, from ordering to storage.
- Utilize the resources provided by the IKEA Concept, tools, manuals, guidelines, and best practices to drive business growth.
