Job Description: TS Controller – SQL Server Database Administration
In this role as a TS Controller, you will be responsible as a team member for administration, performance tuning, integrity, availability and security of SQL Server databases. Responsible for delivering technology solutions that add strategic business value and will be involved in all stages of our projects from the architecture, technical solutions and reviews. Key Accountabilities: Hamad International Airport Qatar
- Responsible for the administration, performance tuning, integrity, availability, and security of SQL Server databases.
- Deliver technology solutions that add strategic business value.
- Involved in all stages of projects, including architecture, technical solutions, and reviews.
- Excellent skills in the administration of SQL Server 2012, 2014, 2016, 2017, and 2019.
- Hands-on experience in administering SQL Server business intelligence features (SSRS, SSAS, SSIS).
- Implement database security features such as Dynamic Data Masking.
- Implement SQL Server high availability features like Always On, SQL Mirroring, Replication, and Log Shipping.
- Experience in active-passive and active-active SQL Server clustering.
- Implement disaster recovery (DR) solutions using SAN-based replication.
- Utilize tools like SQL Profiler, Database Tuning Advisor, and others.
- Configure and analyze performance reports using SQL Server Management Data Warehouse and Performance Dashboard.
- Knowledge of SQL scripting for automating maintenance tasks.
- Experience in tuning SQL Server database queries.
- Good knowledge of network and storage management.
- Link SQL Server data with other RDBMS like Oracle and open-source databases using linked servers and gateways.
- Understanding of cloud architecture (conceptual knowledge).
- Azure certification is a plus.
- Optimize database system administration activities.
- Integrate SQL Server with other products like Power BI and SCOM.
- Capacity planning and auditing.
- Hands-on experience in implementing database security.
Skills: Hamad International Airport Qatar
- Master’s Degree in Computer Science or equivalent.
- More than 6+ years of IT experience.
- Good understanding of database features.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks, including incident/ticket management, upgrades, and deployments.
- Ability to work across teams to resolve issues and outages.
- Reduction in time to restoration of service outages.
- Root cause identification and remediation of issues.
- Excellent critical thinking and problem-solving skills.
- Experience with database log analysis and event viewer.
- Providing technical support for operations.
- Reviewing existing server architecture and planning for consolidations without compromising performance with minimal downtime.
- Conducting cost-saving exercises and planning for database consolidation.
- Hands-on experience with Oracle and open-source databases.
- Experience working in large OT environments and mixed networking protocols.
